Can you tell the difference?

Can you tell the difference?

Is this a $2,600 dress or a $400 dress?
So you think that you can only wear a three thousand dollar dress? Can you really tell the difference between spendy and thrifty?

This is the question at the top of our minds at A Grand Wedding.com. Ever since we discovered that most celebrities wear fake diamond rings (that supposedly replicate the ‘real’ one they’ve got stashed in a safe somewhere;) we wondered: could your guests call you out on a $400 dress versus a $4,000 one?

Best dress
Take a look at this little number (right). Made from delicate taffeta, this princess-worthy gown features lace trim at pleated sweetheart bodice, shirred waist and accented lace underskirt. It comes in ivory or white, and the gathered body and skirt will let you enjoy your own buffet, at least once.

Now look at this second option (left). This strapless gown, mostly covered with classic lace, is figure-flattering and uber-bridal. We love how the lace at the bottom spills onto the floor giving gals a dramatic entrance and exit.

Now which one is $400.00 and which is $2,600—almost six times as much as the other one?

The more expensive option is the one on the left, the one with lace. The $400.00, very do-able option is the one above, worn by the bride with the feathers in her hair.

“OK,” you say. “That was dresses. What about rings?” Game on.

It's a ring thing
We’re all about bling and in our book, size matters. Can you tell the difference between an over $16,000.00 ring and one that's just shy of $1,000?

Here’s a pretty option(right); a square, princess cut diamond mounted on a thicker white gold band. This ring is a respectable 1.5 carat ring…enviable by most ladies you went to high school with.

Next up, this round, solitare ring (below, left)...also 1.5 carats, also in white gold. This band is also thicker than usual but without appearing chunky. And, its got a great little secret row of diamonds around the setting. Love that.

Which one is $979.00 and which is over $16,000.00?

If you said the $979 ring was the round diamond ring, you’d be right.

The square diamond ring will cost you more than some people make in a year. Why is the round ring so much less? OK, it’s a Moissanite, a man-made diamond mounted in real white gold.

If you can’t bear the thought of a fake rock, we found this ring on DiamondWave.com for $979.99. It’s a real diamond, real white gold and real cute.
